How Lifetime Performance Medicine Started

Lifetime Performance Medicine is the wellness and longevity division of Lifetime Surgical, founded by Dr. Richard Nguyen in 2007. After helping thousands of patients transform their health through surgery, Dr. Nguyen created a new approach focused on optimizing how people feel, perform, and age. Through comprehensive diagnostics, a Lifetime Body Score across six domains, and a personalized 12-month plan, every recommendation is guided by measurable data and ongoing progress.

Dr. Richard Nguyen, DO
Dr. Richard Nguyen is a board-certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery from Vanderbilt University. Since 2007, he has served the Bay Area with a focus on advanced surgical care, robotic surgery, bariatric procedures, hernia repair, and patient-centered treatment.
Known for his innovative approach and surgical precision, Dr. Nguyen has helped thousands of patients through personalized care designed to improve both immediate outcomes and long-term health. His expertise includes minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures, as well as specialized non-mesh and advanced hernia repair techniques that attract patients from across the country.
As the founder of Lifetime Performance Medicine, Dr. Nguyen is expanding his vision beyond surgery by integrating longevity medicine, metabolic health, advanced diagnostics, and wellness optimization into a more proactive model of care. His philosophy centers on helping patients achieve better energy, resilience, recovery, and overall quality of life through personalized, science-backed strategies.
Morgan Carmean, ARNP
Morgan Carmean, ARNP, is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in surgical care, wellness optimization, and personalized patient support. With extensive experience in bariatric and general surgery, she brings a compassionate and individualized approach focused on helping patients achieve lasting health and wellness outcomes.
A graduate of Virginia Tech and Samford University, Morgan combines evidence-based medicine with a whole-body philosophy that considers each patient's lifestyle, goals, and long-term well-being. She is passionate about creating care plans that feel supportive, realistic, and tailored to the individual.
Patients value Morgan's calm and approachable nature, along with her ability to guide them through every stage of their health journey with clarity and compassion. Through Lifetime Performance Medicine, she continues to help patients pursue a more proactive path to health, focusing on balance, vitality, recovery, and sustainable wellness.

We're located at 15965 Los Gatos Blvd, Suite 201, in Los Gatos, California. All testing, visits, IV therapy, and diagnostics happen on-site in our clinic. Dr. Nguyen oversees two complementary practices in the Bay Area. Lifetime Performance Medicine focuses on longevity, diagnostics, and non-surgical optimization. Lifetime Surgical (with offices in Los Gatos and San Jose) focuses on general surgery, bariatric surgery, hernia repair, and advanced minimally invasive procedures.
